As I walk through the valley of the Daytona 5
I take a look at the other racers and I see them alive
But Dale's been fighting so long you see
He never ever ever blames the other team

At 12:45 they started their engines
Someone out there must've been looking for vengeance
'Cause Dale was speeding and has been bleeding so long
That every one of the fans knows his life has gone

He was "The Man In Black" on the track
He was definitely gipped
Had a helmet in his hand and a mustache on his lip
When he won the race, happiness was mine
All of those years were the best time

The Champ he was more than thrice

My schoolmates made fun of me today
Because of Dale's death, but I just knelt and prayed
After school, what I did was wished Dale well
I thought, Don't worry, they'll be going to hell

I've never punched them, even though they deserved it
Brawling over a death? You know that's unheard of
Dale wouldn't want it, I am sure of that
That classic #3 car really looked good in black

I can never go visit him until I die
That part of the plot makes me want to cry
But I guess I will just wait, that would be his wanting
And also I am forced to put up with the taunting

There's no way today I will see him
Dale will never race again
Like any driver out there
He still has many fans

Well I know Dale Earnhardt would put you to the test
He's the speedy guy that the rookies want to be like
After every race he was in the spotlight

So just be patient, just be so calm
Everyone will see him after not too long
